After finishing the regular season undefeated 24-0 without losing a set the entire regular season, Wheelersburg’s volleyball team made an appearance in the OHSAA Division III Final Four. After victories over Southeastern, Adena and Hiland, the Pirates were able to capture their first regional championship in program history after defeating Hiland; in which they lost their first set before rallying back and winning the match after being down 2-0. They came back to win 3-2. In their matchup in the Division III Final Four, they faced off against Independence at the Rutter Center at Wright State University. However, the Pirates saw their season end as they were beat 3-0 by the Blue Devils. They become the second team from Scioto County to make it to the state Final Four, joining Clay High School who went last year in 2018
