The Ashland Animal Rescue Fund (AARF) is an animal rescue shelter based in Ashland, Kentucky. They rescue animals that have been abandoned, surrendered, or they get them from overcrowded shelters. The rescued animals are then vetted, rehabilitated and rehomed.
“To adopt, we have an application process,” said Cathy Queen, the executive director of AARF. “We ask for personal and vet references. Animals within the home must be current on vaccines and spayed or neutered. Upon application approval, we set up a meet and greet with the potential adopter and with their current animals if applicable.”
For readers who are not looking to adopt, there are other ways to support AARF. The organization will be holding its annual Howliday Dinner and Live Auction on Nov. 11. The event will take place at the Ashland Transportation Building at 99 15th St. from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased by sending a private message to AARF on Facebook or picking them up in person at Holly B’s Gifts at 212 16th Street in Ashland or Double Drizzle at 6926 U.S. 60 in Ashland.
