Shawnee State University has opened a new version of a clinic for students. The new Bear Care Health Clinic replaces the healthcare center formerly housed in Hatcher Hall. The clinic has been renovated through a partnership with Community Compass Health and now features not only a new name but also a new location.
The Bear Care Health Clinic is now located in the old Department of Public Safety (DPS) building, near the soccer field by the floodwall. It is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The goal of the clinic is to provide the help that students may need on a daily basis.
“Access the care you need, when you need it,” the clinic’s ad stated. “The Shawnee State University Bear Care Clinic offers daily convenient access to first-aid services, quick care for minor illnesses and injuries, counseling, mental health and psychological and primary care.”
The clinic wants to be able to help any students, so they will see any student regardless of ability to pay. For more information or to schedule an appointment, students can call (740) 355-7102.
