On Wednesday, Oct. 30, in South Point, Ohio, which is about 45 minutes away from Shawnee State University, the community came together for C3 Church’s annual Trunk or Treat, which had games, candy and costumes.
Many children in cute and creative costumes came for the event, which featured perfect weather at 70 degrees. There were a bunch of creatively decorated trunks, ranging from scary haunted themes to a unique Christmas-themed trunk that offered candy canes and Christmas tree snack cakes. The holiday-themed trunk won the award for best decorated trunk from kids and adults combined.
The hard work of C3 Church workers and volunteers, who spent a lot of time creating decorations, planning games and making sure everything went without any issues, made Trunk or Treat a great time.
“I adore events like tonight,” C3 volunteer Katie Wagner said. “Not only is it fun to dress up, but it’s a great chance to meet people in our community.”
C3 Church’s lead pastor Trent Carpenter shared how thankful he was for the community and volunteers’ involvement and help.
“I’m very happy with the turnout,” he said. “We are already looking forward to making next year’s Trunk or Treat even bigger and better!”
Not only did C3 get to celebrate Halloween with others, but the event also created a safe and family-friendly place for the community. Along with candy and costumes, the event created interactions among old and new friends by giving them a chance to spend time with each other.
