Shawnee State University students looking for a way to get from campus to other parts of Scioto County without vehicles of their own can take advantage of the transportation services offered by ACCESS Scioto County Public Transit. ACCESS does not offer a daily bus schedule, but people can call ahead and schedule a trip with the service. Routes with stops in multiple parts of the county are offered.
The service is not available on federal holidays, and schedules are based on customer demand. All trips are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Fares are based on the distance of the trip and can be calculated using information available at this link.
If you want to save money on gas and be more environmentally friendly, public transport might be the way to go. Especially if you aren’t familiar with the area, you get an education on how to handle traffic and the best routes to take to get to places. Public transportation can be much faster, safer, more efficient and weather-compatible than walking.
