Brendan Major, Staff Writer
Brendan Major is a sophomore at Shawnee State University. He was born and raised in Washington Court House, Ohio, and commutes two days out of the week to be on campus. Brendan is currently majoring in communication in hopes of becoming a sports broadcaster, a goal rooted in his interest in sports, specifically hockey.
Brendan is a part of the Shawnee State bowling team and has been for two years now. His passion began early with him competing since the age of 9. Brendan was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2021 and ensures his health is maintained before and after competitions. Nevertheless, he still pours his heart and ethic into a sport he has loved from the beginning, even with his obstacles. He also is a part of the College of Arts and Sciences social media management team and enjoys contributing as much as he can.
Aside from his extra-curricular activities, Brendan works a part-time job in his hometown if he’s not attending practice or classes. In his free time, Brendan enjoys attending the Columbus Bluejackets hockey games or attending concerts. Brendan chose Shawnee State not only for the bowling team and affordability but also for the easy access and unconditional support Shawnee provides for students to obtain their degree.
