Karlie Lambert, Staff Writer
Karlie Lambert is a 19-year-old sophomore at Shawnee State University, majoring in communication. She started out college with hopes to be a respiratory nurse but quickly realized that being a writer is what she wanted to do. The reason she was drawn to communication is because she loves story writing, talking to new people and telling stories. When asked what career she would like one day, she said that she would love to eventually become an author but wants to start out in journalism or being an editor for a news site or paper.
She is from Waverly, Ohio, which is about 45 minutes away. She decided to come to Shawnee because of family ties and scholarships. Karlie loves to create characters for stories, listen to music, sing and play video games. She said her most-played and favorite game is definitely Minecraft and her favorite movie is Pixels, created by Columbia Pictures. In high school, she sang in the choir all four years and even won the Directors Award, which demonstrated her improvement and leadership. Now that she is out of high school, she continues to build her singing abilities by singing on the praise team for her church where she also volunteers in the nursery and children’s classroom.
