Patrick England, Staff Reporter

Patrick England is a senior in his third year at Shawnee State, majoring in psychology with a minor in sports management. He will graduate from Shawnee State in the spring of 2022 and plans to continue his education and earn a master’s degree in psychology. After this, England plans on becoming a high school psychologist.

While writing for the Chronicle, England is looking to improve upon, as well as gain confidence in, his writing skills and gain valuable experience in writing on different topics. He is looking forward to learning more about the writing process and what it takes to be a successful reporter. This opportunity will allow him to become a more well-rounded and successful writer, while giving him the experience of writing in a more professional setting. Writing for the chronicle is important to him because it gives him the opportunity to share information with other students on campus, as well as learning from others’ writings. His areas of interest for writing include Shawnee State athletic events and campus events or issues, but he is open to other topics as well. Overall, he is hoping that this experience will improve his general writing ability and give him more confidence in his writing.

Outside of school, England is from the town of Peebles, Ohio, which is not too far from Shawnee State. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, watching Netflix, and playing golf. England is on the golf team here at Shawnee State and would enjoy the opportunity to write about his team as well as other teams on campus. This is his first experience with writing for a newspaper or journal, so he is excited to expand his knowledge and skills in the world of journalism.
