Avery Storer, Staff Writer
Avery Storer is a 21-year-old AYA (Adolescent to Young Adult) language arts education major in her junior year at Shawnee State University. She grew up in Peebles, Ohio, and attended Peebles High School where she started her college career early, taking multiple College Credit Plus classes. In addition to her major, she is double-minoring in Spanish and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and has been enrolled in SSU’s Honors Program since 2023. Avery strives for a career in teaching English to young, native Spanish speakers in another country.
Outside of academics, Avery is a very adventurous individual who continues to explore her passion for the Spanish language and culture. She plans to travel to all 20 Spanish-speaking countries in her lifetime and has already begun this journey, having traveled to places such as the Dominican Republic, Peru and Ecuador. In addition to traveling, Avery also enjoys activities such as skydiving. Aside from her love of adventure, Avery enjoys reading Jodi Picoult. During her time as a Chronicle staff member, Avery plans to cover a variety of stories that both entertain and enhance her readers’ understanding of on-campus activities/classes and local programs related to the Spanish language and culture.
