Lilly-May Walker is a 20-year-old transfer student from Portland Community College entering her third year at Shawnee State University studying communication. A native of Queensland, Australia, Lilly came to the United States to play college basketball and earn herself a degree while playing the sport that she loves. Lilly is a member of Shawnee State University’s basketball team, where she plays the position of small forward. When asked what she enjoys about attending Shawnee State, Lilly said, “I like that everything is on campus, that everything is walking distance, and everything is residential living.”

Lilly said she enrolled in the news reporting and writing class and joined the Chronicle staff to become a better writer, as well as to earn college credits toward her degree and potential career development. Lilly plans on chasing stories focused on athletics as she aims to improve her writing skills.
