Shiyanne Deleon, Staff Reporter

Shiyanne Deleon is a 19-year-old full-time student from New York City currently beginning her second semester at Shawnee State University. She plans on graduating in the summer of 2024, with a bachelor’s of English Humanities with a concentration in AYA Language Arts for grades 7-12. Shiyanne has always had a love for writing. She participated in all of her elementary poetry slams, has written plays for her high school, and has written numerous short stories. Shiyanne hopes to unlock the next level of her writing ability and perfect her craft, and she is hoping to get that out of taking News Reporting and Writing. Shiyanne wants to eventually start a fashion blog to express her love for the fashion world. She believes that fashion is the biggest way to express who you are publicly, and writing is the biggest way to express who you are on paper.

Outside of school, Shiyanne likes staying inside and watching lifestyle vlogs while feeding her online shopping addiction. When Shiyanne isn’t in Ohio, she is back at her true home, NYC. Being from the city that never sleeps, she is determined to accomplish her goals and share her knowledge with the future generation. She has participated in many after school programs from acting to dancing. Shiyanne also shares the same birthday as Edgar Allan Poe, and she lived in the same borough and neighborhood that his final home was located. This coincidence always made Shiyanne feel like she is destined to be a writer, so that is what she is achieving.
