The NAIA named four Shawnee State athletes among their Mid-South Conference academic awards on Tuesday, November 5th. The Shawnee athletes honored were Olivia Ball, Destiny Chester, Jill Kelly, and Alex Raudier.

In order to be honored with this award, there is a required GPA of 3.25 with the academic status of a junior or above. Three of the four Shawnee athletes are in their senior season with the Bears. The seniors include midfielder Jill Kelly, forward Destiny Chester, and midfielder Olivia Ball. Both Olivia and Jill have averaged a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout their years at Shawnee State University.

The only junior to represent Shawnee State on the All-Academic honors list this year was Alex Raudier, who has unfortunately had an injury this season leaving her on the side-lines until next season. However, she has a GPA of 3.9. Raudier stated, “It is an honor to win this award, but this is what we are here for, so it feels right too.” The awards were collected at the Mid-South Conference Banquet, ahead of the conference tournament.
