Let’s Eat Students! Let’s Eat, Students! Grammar Matters

Victoria Reffit, Staff Reporter

Halloween is a time for spooky ghost stories, pumpkin carvings, costumes, candy, and, in this case, English! SSU’s Department of English and Humanities hosted a Halloween party for students to enjoy food, games and photo props with their fellow peers as well as professors. This event took place on October 30 from 5pm-7pm on the English and Humanities Department floor of Massie Hall. Complete with a game of “Guess the Authors!”, a photo opportunity to become Shakespeare, food, deserts, and great conversation.

Several students and professors drifted in and out of the party throughout the event. When asked about the event, SSU Junior Laken Smith said, “I enjoyed the game of naming different writers based on their pictures and I had a great time socializing and eating delicious food!” Another SSU student, Jordan Belt, stated “It was super dope!” This event effectively got conversations started about SSU’s English Department and built on student and professor relationships.
